Commuter Benefits Program
The UCOP pre-tax commuter benefits program allows eligible employees to set aside income (up to the IRS limit) on a pre-tax basis for transportation and parking expenses. The pre-tax benefits program supports both parking at UCOP managed lots and other transportation costs.
The pre-tax limit set by the IRS for parking expenses and commuter transportation for the 2021 tax year are:
- $280 per employee per month for all public transportation
- $280 per employee per month for qualified parking
Only permanent career and contract employees are eligible to participate.
How to Participate
There are two ways to participate in this program:
- If you are using a UCOP-managed parking lot, contact the Work Management Center for instructions.
- For all other transportation expenses, use the Commuter Check Direct program page to enroll and manage your participation.
