College Access and Preparation Forum
The UC College Access and Preparation (CAP) Forum gathers UC professionals who work across the educational spectrum to improve academic preparation and postsecondary access for all students, particularly those from underserved communities.
The 2018 CAP Forum was about Intersections: where our conceptual knowledge as educators meets effective practice, where underrepresented and first-generation students’ challenges meet their unique strengths, and where current issues in the larger world intersect with the university and its policies.
The 2018 CAP Forum sessions spanned two days, May 22–23, 2018.
The 2018 CAP Forum offered three optional pre-conference workshops to explore professional development topics in greater length, facilitated by expert practitioners.
The 2018 CAP Forum featured informational sessions on best practices, student success, research and data, and management and leadership development.
CAP Forum 2018 speakers included Lara Downes, musician and director of UC ArtsBridge; Monica Lozano, president and CEO of College Futures Foundation; and Alberto Ledesma, Assistant Dean for Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity at UC Berkeley.
