Wide Area Network (CENIC)

Availability: UCOP and Systemwide

Service Description
ITS manages the master contract between UC and the Corporation for Education Network Initiatives in California (CENIC). CENIC designs, implements, and operates the California Research and Education Network (CalREN), which is a high-bandwidth, high-capacity, multitiered Internet network serving California educational institutions. CENIC services include the Digital California (DC) and High Performance Research (HPR) networks, cloud storage, and other network-related services.

ITS coordinates requests on behalf of UC locations to add, change, or discontinue CENIC services through a series of addenda to the master contract with UC.
