Gender Inclusive Facilities

In support of the university’s commitment to inclusiveness for people of all gender identifications, the University of California Guidelines for Providing Gender Inclusive Facilities were instituted July 1, 2015.​

UCOP formed a Gender Inclusive Facilities (GIF) Committee to oversea the implementation of these guidelines. The committee reviewed and evaluated gender inclusion in UCOP-owned buildings, including restrooms, showers, locker rooms and changing rooms, and made recommendations to the Building and Administrative Services Center on new construction or renovation projects to comply with the guidelines. ​

​Gender inclusive restrooms are available in some UCOP-owned buildings that have been constructed and renovated recently, as follows:​
