Transfer Prep

TRANSFER PREP is a critical resource within the university’s outreach efforts to the 116 California Community Colleges. The Transfer Prep program builds the transfer pipeline across the state by providing students with admissions advising, along with academic and enrichment resources and opportunities needed to successfully transition from community college to UC and other four-year institutions.

UC works directly with California community college students to support and prepare for transfer to a four-year university through programs such as UC Transfer Prep, MESA and the Puente Project and collaborations with community-based organizations. UC Transfer Prep and other SAPEP transfer programs offer a range of services including:

• Transfer admissions advising
• Online transfer resources and support
• Peer mentor programming
• Academic mentorship
• Research opportunities
• Financial aid literacy and advising
• College and career readiness opportunities such as college fairs, campus visits and summer residential experiences
• Pre-transfer academic programs, including academic enrichment programs to prepare students for college-level coursework
• Professional development trainings and workshops for community college students, counselors and administrators
