Coordinated Monitoring and Threat Response

The University of California is a single, integrated system, and cybersecurity threats that arise at any location or campus can affect the security of the entire UC system.  Thus, from time to time, if a serious cybersecurity threat arises that may potentially impact multiple campuses, the Office of the President may direct campuses to coordinate security monitoring, investigation, and threat remediation activities ("coordinated security activities") as part of a systemwide response to such a threat.  Such coordinated security activities must be consistent with the University of California Electronic Communications Policy.  These activities may differ in scope from a single location's or campus's security monitoring, investigation and/or threat remediation activities. The Office of the President will inform the location's or campus's Cyber-Risk Responsible Executive if such coordinated security activities are directed.
