Gabriel’s project seeks to a validate new strategy to provide tolerance against monsoon floods in rice. Climate change has increased the chances of severe weather events around the world, especially droughts and floods. These occurrences severely impact our global food supply by destroying crops and placing millions at risk of starvation. To comprehensively address this issue, we urgently require new strategies to confer increased tolerance and resilience to our crops against these extreme weather events.
