Rhonda Stewart Goldstein is Deputy General Counsel in charge of litigation for the University of California (UC). In her role, she manages a group of nearly 20 in-house attorneys and the work of outside counsel engaged to represent the University. Rhonda and her team oversee a litigation portfolio consisting of over 1,000 active matters spanning employment law, medical malpractice, general tort liability, commercial disputes and affirmative recoveries, class actions, and academic affairs.
Rhonda joined the Office of the General Counsel as Senior Counsel for the Litigation Group in May 2014. She became Managing Counsel in April 2022, and then Deputy General Counsel in December 2022. Prior to joining the office, Ms. Goldstein was a litigation attorney in the Washington, D.C. and San Francisco offices of at Arnold & Porter LLP (now Arnold & Porter Kay Scholer LLP), handling complex cases in consumer product, product liability, and general civil litigation.
