Experience

​Since 2017, Norm Hamill has served as Managing Counsel for the litigation group, which collectively manages a wide-variety of affirmative and defensive litigation to which the University is a party.  Between 2006 and 2017, Mr. Hamill served as Senior Counsel in the office with a focus on risk-management-related litigation, particularly in the general liability area, and provided counsel to Risk Management staff on insurance, indemnity, and other risk-related issues.  Mr. Hamill also provides legal and governance support to the University’s captive insurance companies.

Prior to joining OGC, Mr. Hamill worked in private practice at two different law firms, and worked as in-house counsel for an insurance company.  He received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley (B.A. 1988) and received his law degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles (J.D. 1991)​
