Experience 

Matthew Hawk joined the Office of the General Counsel as Senior Counsel in the Construction Group in June 2019.  Prior to joining the office, Mr. Hawk practiced in the field of construction litigation as a partner with Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani LLP in San Francisco, CA for thirteen years.

As a member of the construction group, Mr. Hawk provides a wide variety of legal services to the University’s statewide construction program.  Mr. Hawk is a graduate of the University of California, Irvine (B.A. 2000) and the University of San Francisco School of Law (J.D. 2003).  Mr. Hawk is also one of the few attorneys accredited by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) as a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Associate (2009) and remains active in both the national and local chapters of the USGBC.
