PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Jason will expand the work he’s been doing with Dr. Rashesh Gupta to install, test and refine smart systems in campus buildings using a software thermostat called Genie to save HVAC energy usage. Genie process users with an easy way to control their rooms’ air conditioning schedules and change temperatures. Jason will also role out Brick, a building standard with several other universities and IBM, and MetroInsight, a data center to mediate information exchanges in different systems for demand response management. These integrated systems will be tested to see if they efficiently nudge people towards carbon neutrality.
