Project

Energy Management for Carbon Neutrality

Description

This project will expand on a completed pilot to establish regular energy management capability for a portfolio of key buildings at Berkeley Lab. The project involves learning about the operation of Berkeley Lab buildings, configuring buildings and data in an Internet-based building energy information software system, and developing a standard operational process for identifying energy saving opportunities in buildings.

Goals

To gain a deep understanding of the energy-consuming aspects of buildings and gain an understanding of contributions to the greenhouse gas footprint of a major research campus. The project will result in an expanded and operational energy performance platform that can support ongoing reductions in greenhouse gas emissions at Berkeley Lab. The project also will develop a standard operational process for identifying energy-saving opportunities in buildings.

Future Plans

I would like to work in the industry of incorporating technology into buildings to create smarter, more sustainable and more energy-efficient buildings.
