Facilities and Asset Management
Resources
Facilities and Asset Management group leverages the University of California Facilities Manual (FM) in many different aspects. The manual outlines policies, procedures, and guidelines for UC facilities operations groups throughout the enterprise. The group also supports a self-governance committee that provides policy input and outlines best practices in a number of areas such as Landscaping, Custodial and Elevator maintenance.
Integrated Capital Asset Management Platform (ICAMP) workplace management and decision support system is helping UC manage its capital asset portfolio, address deferred maintenance and optimize its portfolio’s total cost of ownership. ICAMP builds a common performance management dashboard and establishes benchmarks, set targets and compares actual performance across the system to continuously drive portfolio improvement. It also provides users with interactive views of the data so they can manage their portfolio as well as slice and dice multiple data points to discover new insights and begin to consider new courses of action.

Facilities Manual
The Facilities Manual contains University of California policies, procedures, and guidelines for its facilities. The manual is based on Regents’ policy, federal and state laws, regulations, case law, and results of UC’s dispute resolution. Areas include operations and administration, planning, design, construction contracting, and facilities management.
Facilities Operations at UC are guided by Chapter 6 of the Facilities Manual, which sets forth the goals of operation and maintenance of plant (OMP), the University’s policy on maintenance, and the different types of maintenance.
