Executive Director, Strategic Partnerships and Community Engagement
Sandra Williams-Hamp joined UC’s Office of Diversity and Engagement in October 2017 as the executive director for Strategic Partnerships and Community Engagement. Sandra supports the UC campuses by forging and maintaining academic partnerships — with education sectors, nonprofit organizations and community- and faith-based organizations. Sandra brings more than 27 years of experience in K–12 educational strategy, strategic partnerships and program implementation.
She comes to the Office of the President from the College Board, where she served as the executive director for K–12 in the 12 western states for more than 18 years. She has worked closely with California’s largest school districts to improve educational opportunity and college access. She developed partnerships with wide-ranging K–12 districts, educators, students/families, state leaders and community-based organizations, working to close achievement gaps and improve student outcomes. Sandra is also the co-founder of the national conference A Dream Deferred: The Future of African American Education.
A native of Berkeley, California, Sandra holds a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, and an M.S. in education from California State University, East Bay.
