2016 UC Diversity Leaders Retreat September 27th - 28th, 2016
About the Diversity Leaders Retreat
While there is no shortage of innovative diversity, equity and inclusion work happening across the UC system, there is a deep need for further dialogue and ongoing collaboration. The UC Diversity Leaders Retreat seeks to create a space for that dialogue and collaboration to happen; and furthermore, it seeks to offer and expand resources so each leader can enhance diversity strategies and practices on their respective campus or location.
At the retreat, each of UC’s ten campuses and 3 locations will bring teams of leaders, practitioners, faculty members and administrators to discuss best practices in building diversity, equity and inclusion on UC campuses and locations. As this year’s theme is Linking Diversity Leaders, the retreat will also serve as a professional learning and collective action space to support ongoing and new efforts to improve campus climate across the system.
This year’s retreat will feature concurrent sessions focused on key populations (i.e., undergraduate students, graduate students, staff and faculty) and will culminate in an individual team strategy session to create a plan to advance their diversity efforts.
