UC Health Systemwide Operations

In 2015, UC Health launched its Leveraging Scale for Value Program in order to reduce costs and improve quality across the Medical Centers. This Program has since generated nearly $1 billion in systemwide value through cost reductions and revenue enhancement.

In 2017, this function was broadened and included as part of the UC Health Strategic Plan with a goal of achieving an additional $500M per year by FY21-22.

This department is responsible for establishing and implementing operational policies and procedures and providing oversight of complex processes while executing targeted initiatives with the overarching goal of providing value through “systemness” across all of UC Health.

Within various initiatives, the goals are increasing revenue and achieving significant cost savings. Key areas of focus include:
  • Information Technology
  • Labor Management
  • Revenue Cycle
  • Supply Chain
  • Laboratory Services
  • Pharmacy
  • Capital Equipment
