This page provides information on the two funding opportunities available in the 2020 cycle. Further updates and program announcements will be posted on this website.


UC Multicampus-National Lab Collaborative Research and Training (UC-NL CRT) Awards

These awards support collaborations consisting of at least three UC campuses and either Los Alamos or Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory conducting research in one of three targeted areas.

Key Dates:

  • Monday, April 29 at 12:00 noon PT: Informational teleconference. We encourage all applicants to attend. Slides from the teleconference are now available.
  • Thursday, May 30 at 12:00 noon PT: Deadline to submit Letters of Intent. These are required and must be submitted through proposalCENTRAL.
  • Thursday, August 1 at 12:00 noon PT: Deadline to submit full proposals.

UC-National Lab In-Residence Graduate Fellowships (UC-NL GF)

These Fellowships support doctoral graduate students to conduct in-residence dissertation research at Los Alamos or Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in any area relevant to the labs.

  • Program info-sessions: These webinars provide an overview of the program, and feature current Fellows who will share their experiences with the Fellowship.
    • Friday, April 12, 2019 at 10:00am PTRegistration is closed.
    • Friday, April 19, 2019 at 12:00 noon PT. Registration is closed.
  • Application teleconference: This session will cover application requirements, and guidance on submitting the Letter of Intent. Attendance is recommended for applicants, but not required.
