The University of California is pleased to announce two funding opportunities for UC-National Laboratory Research Collaboration.
This page provides information on the two UC National Laboratory Fees Research Program funding opportunities available in the 2022 cycle. Program updates and announcements will be posted on this page.

UC Multicampus-National Lab Collaborative Research and Training (UC-NL CRT) Awards

These awards support collaborations consisting of at least three UC campuses and either Los Alamos or Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory conducting research in one of three strategic areas targeted in the RFP. Campus organizers are planning workshops for each area.

  • Wednesday, April 21 at 10:30-11:30am PT: Applicant webinar. We encourage all applicants to attend. Registration for the webinar is now open.
  • Thursday, May 27 at 12:00 noon PT: Deadline to submit Letters of Intent. These are required and must be submitted through SmartSimple.
  • Thursday, August 5 at 12:00 noon PT: Deadline to submit full proposals.

UC-National Lab In-Residence Graduate Fellowships (UC-NL GF)

These Fellowships support doctoral graduate students to conduct in-residence dissertation research at Los Alamos or Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in any area relevant to the labs.

  • There will be two applicant webinars featuring current fellows and national laboratory liaisons. We encourage all applicants to attend one.
  • Thursday, June 3 at 12:00 noon PT: Deadline to submit Letters of Intent. These are required and must be submitted through SmartSimple.
  • Thursday, September 2 at 12:00 noon PT: Deadline to submit full proposals.
