Partnering Pays Off
Procurement Services works every day to reduce spend and increase value to direct more resources to the UC’s core mission. One way we do this is by partnering with other departments and divisions to help them achieve lower costs and derive more value from their activities.
This past year, Procurement Services partnered with Risk Services on a number of projects that really paid off in both monetary savings and organizational and employee protection. Below are the projects that Risk Services highlighted at the annual UCOP CFO Townhall:
- Systemwide purchase of helmets with communication devices to protect police officers’ hearing
- Systemwide purchase of body-worn camera systems for police officers to record interaction activities
- Systemwide purchase of actuarial services to assess and evaluate risk for better planning
- Systemwide purchase of insurance and risk broker consulting contracts.
