Key Category Guidelines and Goals
UC Sustainable Procurement Policy and Guidelines have set best practices for the purchase of services broadly. The UC system procures a multitude of professional services from small one-time engagements to large multi-year partnerships. The University has committed to allocating a minimum of 15% of the points utilized in competitive solicitation evaluations to sustainability criteria including but not limited to supplier diversity, supplier practices (corporate social responsibility policies and practices) as well as contributions to health and wellbeing. Review the UC Sustainable Practices Policy and UC Sustainable Procurement Guidelines (pdf) for more detail.
General Criteria
Some Green (environmental) and Economic and Social sustainability criteria are applicable across all, or a large number of different product or service categories. You can refer to the Sustainable Procurement Guidelines (pdf) for general criteria that must be applied to all applicable categories, and included in the specifications for all relevant solicitations and contracts.
