Halina Wojnicz

Director, IT Project Management Office

Halina is a career IT professional with over 25 years of experience in the industry with a Bachelors in Computer Science and a Masters in Consciousness Studies. She is trained as a Project Management Professional and a Six Sigma Black Belt.

Halina joined the University in 2012 and has held leadership positions at both the Office of the President and at UC Berkeley. At the Office of the President, she established the IT Project Management Office which provides project management services for major initiatives and provides standard tools and methodologies for utilization by all OP departments. She most recently developed the Project Management and Regents Reporting Guidelines for major IT initiatives systemwide and launched UC's Project Management Community of Practice. At UC Berkeley, she served as co-director of the Operational Excellence program with responsibility for supporting the Revenue Generation Initiative, the Energy Management Initiative, the CalTime/Kronos time-keeping system and Cal Performances' data infrastructure enhancement projects.

Prior to joining UC, Halina led various strategic initiatives in the private sector for startups and large corporations including Bank of America, Wells Fargo and First Data Corporation. At Bank of America, Halina was VP of business automation projects at the Consumer Lending Division and then VP of the award-winning National Source Reduction and Recycle Programs. She was honored by the Salt Lake Olympic Committee for Outstanding Environmental Education. At Wells Fargo, Halina managed the ATM network systems and programming department. At Paymap, a subsidiary of Western Union/First Data, Halina was brought in to professionalize their project management function and improve operations in order to attract viable investors. Early on in her career, she was a software consultant for small business application development in New York City.
