Donald Yoo joined UCLA Health as a Senior Counsel in April 2019. Prior to joining UCLA Health, Donald spent nearly 10 years as an Assistant United States Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California handling both affirmative and defensive matters on behalf of the United States. From 2014 to 2019, Donald worked in the office’s Civil Fraud Section where he investigated and litigated health care fraud cases under the False Claims Act, including claims involving improper up-coding and billing of medical services, failure of care, providing medically unnecessary services, Medicare Part D fraud, and violations of the Stark Law and Anti-Kickback Statute. Donald also served as the Civil Health Care Fraud Coordinator and the Controlled Substances Act Coordinator. Prior to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Donald worked as a litigation associate at Venable LLP and as an Attorney General Honors Program Attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice.
Donald received his undergraduate degree from UCLA and his law degree from Loyola Law School.
