Operations Manager and Executive Assistant

Karin Ukpabi is the operations manager and executive assistant for the University of California’s Office of Federal Governmental Relations (FGR), a position she has held since July 2019. In this role Karin is responsible for the daily business and administrative operations of the office and serves as the human resources liaison for FGR. Karin also provides administrative support to the associate vice president and associate director.

Prior to joining FGR, Karin was the special assistant at the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights, a nonprofit human rights advocacy organization, specifically working on events related to the 50th anniversary of Kennedy’s campaign for the White House and organization founding. Prior to the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights, Karin worked for Viacom for more than seven years in roles including executive assistant, coordinator, manager, associate producer and social media manager. While at Viacom, Karin covered a large portfolio with responsibilities ranging from overseeing resource and budget allocations to managing projects and events to coordinating travel and scheduling for executives to managing payroll processes. Karin received her B.S. in telecommunications from Morgan State University.
