Administrative and Financial Services: Personnel and Payroll:
Frequently Asked Questions
What is my employee ID number?
This is a 9 digit number uniquely identifying
you in the Personnel/Payroll System. It is assigned by the
online system upon initial hire when we have established your
record on the employee database.
How can I find out what my employee
ID number is?
The number is included in the employment
document sent to you for review upon your initial hire. It
can also be found on your paycheck stub, or if you have elected
automatic deposit, on your surepay statement. Your department
personnel assistant can also access the employee database
to get the number.
I have moved, what do I need to do to
change my address?
You can make address and phone number
changes online at the Benefits website using "UC For
Yourself".
If you do not have access to the online site, send an email
to Joan.Jackson@ucop.edu, a letter to the University Affairs
Personnel Services,

I am applying for a loan, whom do I
contact for employment verification?
You can get online Verification of Employment
at "UC For Yourself". The verification document
shows your hire date, your title and salary, and your year-to-date
earnings--total gross as well as federal taxable amount--for
the current year and one prior year. Many lenders will accept
this verification document as proof of employment, though
some may also require you to provide W2 statements, pay advice
statements, or employment confirmation from your department.
