Revised Academic Personnel Policy 200-22, Recall Appointments for Academic Appointees
Enclosed is revised Academic Personnel Policy 200-22, Recall Appointments for Academic Appointees, which is effective immediately. The new Pre-Retirement Recall Guidelines for Faculty Recalled for Post Retirement Teaching, Appendix A, apply to faculty who are age 60 or above and have at least five years of University of California Retirement Plan (UCRP) service credit at the time the recall appointment is negotiated. Appendix B describes changes made in 2003 to the UCRP Normal Retirement Age and the effect on post-retirement appointments.
This policy has been reviewed by campuses, the Academic Senate, the Office of the General Counsel, employee organizations, and affected employees. I would like to thank the Academic Council and your staff for help in the development and review of this proposal.
