New Academic Personnel Policy 285 - Lecturer with Security of Employment Series, Revised Academic Personnel Policy 210-3 - Instructions to Review Committees, and Revised Academic Personnel Policy 135 - Security of Employment
Enclosed are new Academic Personnel Policy 285 on The Lecturer with Security of Employment series, revised Academic Personnel Policy 210-3 on Instructions to Review Committees and revised Academic Personnel Policy 135 on Security of Employment, which are effective immediately.
The Lecturer with Security of Employment (SOE) series is designed to meet
the long-term instructional needs of the University which cannot be best fulfilled
by an appointee in the regular professorial series, or other type of Lecturer.
On May 29, the Academic Assembly recommended that full-time Lecturers with Potential
for Security of Employment (PSOE) and full-time Senior Lecturers with PSOE be
granted Academic Senate membership. On July 18, The Regents revised Standing
Order 105.1, to extend Senate membership to full-time faculty in these titles.
The enclosed Academic Personnel Manual section 285 incorporates these changes.
