Revised Staff Policy 60, Layoff and Reduction in Time of Career Professional and Support Staff
Enclosed is the above-referenced revised Policy 60, Layoff and Reduction in Time of Career Professional and Support Staff. The policy has been revised to provide employees who have been laid off indefinitely or whose time has been reduced indefinitely with the option of electing severance pay in lieu of the right to recall and preference for reemployment, and to provide one week of severance pay for each full year of University service up to a maximum of 16 weeks.
The proposed revisions were reviewed by the campuses, medical centers and laboratories, and employees were given an opportunity to comment. The policy will be effective on July 1, 2003 and will be made available on the At Your Service website.
