Revisions of Personnel Policies for Staff Members 40 - Holidays, 42 - Sick Leave, and 81 - Reasonable Accommodation

Enclosed are revisions to the above-referenced personnel policies. In PPSM 42, the terms "domestic partner" and "child of a domestic partner" have been added to the list of family members for whom an employee may use sick leave. In PPSM 81, changes have been made to allow for trial employment in all temporary appointments instead of only in limited appointments. Finally, the spring Administrative Holiday has been renamed in honor of Cesar Chavez.

The proposed revisions were reviewed by the campuses and Laboratories, and employees were given an opportunity to comment. The new policies are effective immediately and will be made available on the Human Resources and Benefits website soon.
