CHANCELLORS

Dear Colleagues:

As you are aware, The Regents' Committee on Investments has discussed several times over the past year the proper safekeeping and management of funds raised by campus support groups.

In this regard, on March 19, 1981, The Regents instructed the Committee on Investments to

  1. Continue to review the investment policies and practices of campus foundations, including the review, at least annually, of statements of investment policy and reports of investment performance displayed in such format as may be approved by the Committee on Investments, together with the annual financial reports of campus foundations as audited by certified public accounts, and
  2. Inform campus foundations that the Committee on Investments and the Office of the Treasurer of The Regents are prepared to provide investment management services, without charge, for any campus foundation which requires such service.

Please notify the foundation of your respective campus of this development. If there are any questions relative to this matter, they should be directed to Senior Investment Officer Bruce D. Garland at the Treasurer's Office, Room 615 University Hall.

Sincerely,

David S. Saxon
President
