CHANCELLOR DYNES

Delegation of Authority--National Aeronautics and Space Administration (Triana Earth Radiometry and Imaging)

Regents' Standing Order 100.4(dd) gives the President authority to execute on behalf of the Corporation documents to solicit and accept pledges, gifts, and grants. This authority was amended on July 16, 1993 to increase the President's execution authority with respect to contracts or grants by removing the seven-year time limit and the dollar limit. On March 10, 1995, the Chancellors were delegated the authority to solicit and accept extramural grants and contracts for research not exceeding $5,000,000 in direct costs in any one project year.

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration has made an award to the San Diego campus in the amount of $22,271,657 for a period of four years commencing December 9, 1998 for a project entitled Triana Earth Radiometry and Imaging. Effective immediately, as Chancellor of the San Diego campus, you are authorized to execute the initial award and to solicit and execute any amendments, modifications, or renewals subsequent to the initial award provided the general intent and purpose of the program remain unchanged from those originally approved.

Any redelegation of this authority shall be in writing, with copies to the Senior Vice President--Business and Finance, the Special Assistant--Coordination & Review, and the General Counsel and Vice President for Legal Affairs.
