| NOTES: | |||||||||||||||||||||
| (1) Fall 1998 counts includes Stage
One and Stage Two offers of admission for the Fall 1998
term. An additional 1,608 Stage Two offers were made for
admission to the winter and spring terms. Admission
counts are for all new freshmen. Data include California
residents, out-of-state, and international freshmen as
well as freshmen whose residency is unknown. These counts
also include admissions by exception.In an effort to
maintain the University's commitment to admit all
eligible California high school graduates, Stage Two
admission offers are given only to eligible California
resident freshmen. (2) Data for Fall 1997 are included for comparison. Counts, however, reflect final admission data, including all offers of admission for Fall 1997. (3) An additional 3,157 alternate admission offers were made to Fall 1998 freshmen by Berkeley and Los Angeles for the winter and spring terms during Stage One Admissions. These offers contribute to the the overall effort to accommodate UC eligible freshmen. These offers, however, are not considered part of Stage Two offers as some of these freshmen may have been offered admission at another UC campus. |
