Jeffrey A. Blair
was appointed Acting General Counsel of The Regents of the University of California in June 2006. Blair joined the Office of the General Counsel in 1989 as University Counsel. Prior, Blair served as an attorney in the San Francisco law firm of Lillick & Charles (now Nixon Peabody). In 2002, Blair was appointed Section Leader responsible for all of the University of California s Risk Services litigation generated in the Professional, Employment and General Liability programs. During his tenure with the Office of the General Counsel, Blair has helped shape California case law at the trial and appellate court levels in the areas of administrative remedies, whistleblower, tort and open meeting laws, as well as in the areas of constitutional due process and libel and defamation. Blair earned his undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley, and a J.D. from the University of San Francisco, School of Law.
