Current and former foster youth

Each year, over 3,000 youth "age out" of the foster care system in California, and at UC approximately 150 former foster youth enroll each fall as new students. Since less than 3% of the foster youth population at large ever graduates from college, ensuring the success of these students is one of the University's most critical responsibilities as an institution.
