Narrator: This is Science Today. One of the
nation's most acclaimed hand surgeons has joined the University
of California, Irvine to start the Center for Hand and Upper
Extremity Surgery. Dr. Neil Jones, who was previously from the UCLA Hand
Center, says the goal is
to build a nationally-ranked program with some of the best clinical, research
and training programs in the country.
Jones: The vision is to create a center at UC Irvine that's nationally-recognized, even internationally recognized, as a group of hand surgeons who are expert in various areas of the field and who are able to provide a tertiary referral center for southern California, even for the West coast or other parts of the USA for treatment, surgical reconstruction and rehabilitation of patients with hand injuries or conditions affecting, or problems affecting their hand.
