Be Smart About Safety (BSAS) Loss Prevention & Loss Control Funding - Systemwide
Each year the University of California Office of the President Risk Services, budgets a small amount of its total budget allocation to fund proactive Loss Prevention (LP) and Loss Control (LC) projects at the campus and medical centers. This funding is intended for projects specific to the purpose of reducing the frequency and/or severity of potential loss in the areas of workers' compensation.
Applications for the Loss Prevention and Loss Control Projects are due on May 1st prior to the next fiscal year. Funding application. program guidelines, and a description of the Use of Worker's Compensation Funds can be found at:

BSAS at the Office of the President
UCOP Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP)
This program is the UC Office of the President's Injury and Illness Prevention Program which complies with the
Cal/OSHA requirement (Title 8, California Code of Regulations, Section 3203). It also serves as a framework
for the new UCOP safety program. It is a requirement that all UCOP employees follow and adhere to the items
set forth in this program. This program sets minimum requirements for all UCOP locations/departments.
UCOP is committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment while supporting environmentally sound
practices. The goal is to prevent all workplace injuries, illnesses and environmental incidents.
