The University of California Committee on Latino Research (UCCLR) is a faculty-governed committee that advises the President on the use and distribution of research funds dedicated to the promotion and dissemination of knowledge on Chicano and Latino issues of policy relevance to California. The UCCLR is the successor committee to the University of California SCR 43 Advisory Committee, itself a subset of the original University of California SCR 43 Task Force. The Task Force was established in 1988 to develop the University's response to Senate Concurrent Resolution 43 (Presley, 1987), charging the University to examine important issues concerning California's growing Latino population. The UCCLR meets twice a year to discuss concerns of importance to scholarship and research on Chicano/Latino issues in California and oversee a program of competitive funding in individual faculty research and campus research infrastructure support. More information is available about the Committee on Latino Research.
