Chapter 1-800: Conflict of Interest

Business and Finance Bulletin G-39, Conflict of Interest Policy and Compendium of Specialized University Policies, Guidelines, and Regulations Related to Conflict of Interest, provides a comprehensive listing of the policies, guidelines and procedures applicable to conflict of interest disclosure requirements and issues. Each policy is summarized and a link to the full text of each item is provided. Conflict of Interest issues and questions may arise in a variety of relationships including receipt of extramural (sponsored) awards and acceptance of gifts, hiring of employees, outside activities, patent and licensing relationships, and purchases of goods and services including consultant agreements. Specifically in relation to sponsored projects, University policies on Academic Conflict of Interest or Commitment Related to Sponsored Research are provided by OP Research Policy Analysis and Coordination (RPAC) on its Policies and Guidance webpage. Financial disclosure requirements under State or federal regulations are described in this Manual’s Chapter 2-582.
