Strategic Sourcing
Strategic
Sourcing is responsible for the planned negotiation and management of University-wide agreements, the development and oversight of policies governing purchasing activities, materiel management, equipment management, and the coordination of strategic sourcing efforts at the various campuses, hospitals and labs.
IT Strategic Sourcing
IT Strategic Sourcing negotiates
and manages systemwide and multicampus contractual
agreements for software, networking equipment, hardware and services
for use by IT and administrative staff, faculty, and students.
The Universitywide Advisory Group on Technical
Acquisition Support (TAS), composed of representatives
from each campus and the national lab, advises IT Strategic Sourcing on current
systemwide agreements and recommends products for future
agreements.
Campus and Medical Center end users should first contact their local
TAS Representative for information on
purchase and usage of any software or hardware needs.
Strategic Sourcing's guiding principles:
- Support the University's missions of teaching, research and public service.
- Take a university-wide view when making financial and strategic decisions.
- Always look for new ways to make the sourcing of goods and services more cost-effective and efficient for the University.
- Actively manage suppliers to the University, holding each to appropriate standards of price competitiveness, quality, responsiveness and innovation.
- Operate in accordance with all applicable University policies, State and Federal public codes.
