Subject: Taxable Life Premium Table - Under 25 Rate Change

Service Request 16972 requests that the under 25 rate of the Taxable Life Premium Table in program 
PPP560 be changed from .060 to .050. 

Therefore, at the request of the Payroll Coordinator's Office, the appropriate transactions are made 
available via FTP. All campuses should obtain the transactions at:

            PAYDIST.CTL2006.CARDLIB(TLPPROD)

TLPFILE is a one-record dataset used in the month-end processing for payrolls and the updates to this 
file are accomplished via a special run of program PPP560. The transactions mentioned above should be 
accessed in the SPECARD DD statement and the output TLPFILE should be in the TLPFILE DD statement of 
the PPP560 run. Since it is  different from the usual monthly Benefits Deduction Register reporting 
process, it needs to be run before running the month-end processing as a separate job.

Verify the PPP560 run for the successful update of the TLPFILE as follows:

1. In the report PPP5603, the following message will be displayed.
    "56-049   1-INFORMATION   TLP FILE UPDATE IS SUCCESSFUL"

2. In the report PPP5605, all the rates (including Under 25) are displayed as below:
    -- RATE TYPE --   UND 25   25-29   30-34   35-39   40-44   45-49   50-54   55-59   60-64  65-69  OVER 69
    IRS BASE RATE        .050     .060     .080    .090     .100    .150     .230     .430    .660  1.270  2.060

We suggest making a backup of the updated TLPFILE control file (or table) afterwards. No further changes 
are required.

As always, these updates should be applied only as approved by your campus Payroll Manager. Functional
