Chemistry Validation Rule Eliminated

Current admissions eligibility rules state that if a student earns a D or F grade in the first semester of Chemistry taken for the first time in grades 10–12, it is treated as a subject omission and scholarship deficiency. The student may clear the subject omission and scholarship deficiency if he or she earns a grade of C or higher in the second semester of the course. Starting with fall 2006 applicants, this validation rule will no longer be in effect. When a student earns a D or F grade in the first semester of Chemistry, the first semester course must be repeated and a grade of C or higher earned in order for the semester course to partially satisfy a “d” subject requirement.
