- UCB guarantees housing to new single students admitted for fall. Students admitted for spring, including those attending the Fall Freshman Program, are not guaranteed housing for their first year (most are easily accommodated), but are guaranteed housing for their second year.
- UCD has a limited number of transfer-student residence hall spaces. Housing offers will be e-mailed beginning in April to transfer students who have returned their Statement of Intent to Register. Offers will be made in chronological order, based on eligibility and space availability. Transfer students 24 or older will be referred to private on-campus housing.
- UCI guarantees two years of housing to new single freshmen and one year of housing to transfer students under age 25.
- UCM intends to provide housing on campus for all first-year students who apply by stated deadlines.
- UCR guarantees two years of housing to new single freshmen and transfer students admitted to fall quarter who live on campus the first year and meet all housing deadlines. Limited family student housing cannot be guaranteed, but UCR makes every attempt to provide it to first-year students.
- UCSD guarantees housing to freshmen entering in the fall quarter only.
- UCSB provides 350 single-student apartment spaces and 150 residence hall spaces, distributed through a lottery, for transfer students. Two private, off-campus residence halls house approximately 450 UCSB students.
- UCSC guarantees housing to students entering in the fall quarter only.
