Is there life after DAP?

Absolutely! While funding for the Dual Admissions Program (DAP) has been eliminated in the Governor’s proposed 2004-05 budget, eligible students who applied to DAP during UC’s November 2003 application filing period will receive offers of guaranteed, deferred enrollment from UC campuses via the Guaranteed Transfer Option (GTO). (While eligible students may receive offers of GTO admission from more than one UC campus, students must choose only one to accept). GTO offers of admission includes an academic contract describing the courses that must be completed and the grades that must be earned to successfully transfer from a California community college to UC. In addition, GTO students will have access to UC advising services to guide their academic progress. The Governor has also proposed that UC applicants who receive and accept an offer of deferred enrollment will have their community college fees waived by the state; this proposed fee waiver is subject to final legislative approval.

If you applied to DAP, please plan to spend some time to exploring the GTO web site to learn more about this new program. In the meantime, feel free to contact us at dap@ucop.edu.
