Fall 2007 Community College Transfer Admissions

The University of California campuses offered admission to 16,465 transfer students from California Community Colleges for fall 2007, a slight decline compared with the previous fall term. This dip reflects a small decrease in applications from Community College transfer students. Most campuses will offer admission to additional applicants from California Community Colleges for the winter/spring 2008 term and it is expected that the overall total number of transfer admits for the 2007-08 year will reflect an increase over the 2006-07 count.

Underrepresented students (African American, American Indian and Chicano/Latinos) increased slightly as a proportion of the total admitted transfer class, from 19.9 percent in 2006 to 20.6 percent in 2007. This is the continuation of a trend over the past 10 years.
