This is a Notice of Meeting of the Committee on Grounds and Buildings of the University of California Board of Regents on Tuesday, Sept. 21, at the UC San Francisco Laurel Heights campus (3333 California St.).

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. with public comment, followed by open session.

In the open session, the committee will consider action on the UC San Diego Long Range Development Plan, the UC Santa Cruz Coastal Long Range Development Plan, an exception to the regents’ policy on indemnification for participation in the Savings by Design Program, environmental, plan amendment and design approvals for faculty and family student housing and the education and social sciences building at UC Santa Barbara, UC Riverside commons expansion, UC Merced’s Gallo Recreation and Wellness Center, the McHenry addition and renovation project at UC Santa Cruz, and a biological sciences facility at UC Irvine.

Open-session discussion items include an update on the UC Irvine Medical Center replacement hospital design and efforts to reduce the costs of UC buildings. In closed session, the committee will also discuss the business structure for faculty and student housing and Sierra Madre family student housing at UC Santa Barbara. [Education Code § 92032(b)(6)].
