This is a Notice of Meeting of the University of California Board of Regents on Wednesday, Sept. 22, and Thursday, Sept. 23, 2004. This regular business meeting of the board will be held at the UC San Francisco-Laurel Heights campus, 3333 California St., in San Francisco.

Wednesday's meeting is scheduled to begin at 9:15 a.m. with public comment, followed by open session. The Regents will consider action to approve the university’s 2004-05 budget, amend employee retirement plans and notice any future amendments to residency benefits policies to conform with state domestic partner laws, financing and budget for UC Berkeley’s Underhill replacement and UC San Francisco’s Mission Bay Cancer Research Building, and Discussion items include updates on the status of the national laboratory contract competition and other management issues, and the annual report of the UC President’s Council. In the afternoon, the regents will meet in closed session to discuss personnel and legal matters.
Thursday’s meeting is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. with public comment, followed by an open session to consider action on the Academic Senate’s recommendations for changes in undergraduate admissions eligibility criteria as well as the establishment of a College of Health Sciences at the Irvine campus. Following the board meeting, the regents’ health services committee will meet in open session to discuss an update on Medi-Cal redesign and federal waiver, an update on the UC Irvine Medical Center, and the 2004 report on UC medical centers.
