NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETINGS
This is Notice of a Special Meeting of the University of California Board of the Regents' Committee on Educational Policy concurrent with the Committee to Advise the President on the Selection of a Chancellor of the Santa Cruz campus, in closed session, set for Tuesday, July 13. The meeting will convene at 10:30 a.m. at the Pan Pacific Hotel, 500 Post St., in San Francisco and adjourn at approximately 3 p.m. The purpose of the meeting is to consider matters related to the appointment and employment of a new chancellor [personnel matters, Education Code section 92032(b)(7)].
Because the membership of the Committee to Advise the President on the Selection of a Chancellor of the Santa Cruz campus includes seven members of the regents' Committee on Educational Policy, there exists the potential for having present a quorum of the regents' committee. Although no such committee business will be considered by the advisory committee, this notice of meeting is served in order to comply fully with pertinent open meeting laws.
Attendance is expected of only those regents who are also advisory committee members (regents Hopkinson, Johnson, Kozberg, Lee, Marcus, ex officio Moores, Parsky, and Dynes).
Also, there will be a Special Meeting of the regents' nominating committee in closed session at the lunch break on Wednesday, July 14, during the regents' regular business meeting at UCSF-Laurel Heights campus, 3333 California St., San Francisco. The purpose of the meeting is to consider committee assignments for newly appointed regents Frederick Ruiz and Paul Wachter, as well as appointments to the regents' investment advisory committee.
