This is a Notice of Meeting of the University of California Board of Regents to be held via telephone conference call on Monday, April 12, for the purpose of considering the appointment of Marye Anne Fox as the new chancellor of the UC San Diego campus.

The meeting will begin at 3 p.m. with a closed session for personnel matters [Education Code 92032(b)(7)], followed by an open session including the opportunity for public comment. This meeting notice is issued to comply with the state's pertinent open-meeting laws.


Reporters and other members of the public cannot dial in to the conference call directly, as portions of the call will be in closed session. However, they may go to any of the locations where Regents will be participating in the call:

  • Los Angeles - 411 West 5th St.

In addition, audio of the open session of the meeting will be broadcast live over the Internet. (The audio feed is turned off for the closed-session portion of the meeting.) At 4 p.m., following the Regents' meeting, UC President Robert C. Dynes, Dr. Fox and other UC officials will hold a press availability. It will be held at the UCSD campus.

The press availability also will be webcast at http://ucsdnews.ucsd.edu and will be available by telephone conference call for reporters who wish to participate but cannot attend in person.
