This is a Notice of Meeting of the University of California Board of Regents on Wednesday, Sept. 18, and Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002. This regular business meeting of the board will be held at the UC San Francisco-Laurel Heights campus, 3333 California St., in San Francisco. This month's meeting will include a regents' tour of the UCSF Mission Bay site on Tuesday afternoon (Sept. 17, 3 p.m., Catellus Visitor Center).

Wednesday's meeting is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. with public comment, followed by an open session of the Special Committee to Select a Student Regent at 9 a.m. Agenda items for the Wednesday morning open sessions include discussion of the 2002-03 budget, reports on the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and UC hospitals, and action on financing for student housing at UCLA and housing and dining facilities at UC Merced. The Wednesday afternoon agenda will be held in closed session for the purpose of discussing personnel, legal and investment matters.

Thursday's meeting is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. with public comment, followed at 8:50 a.m. by an open-session discussion of systemwide long-range planning. The Thursday sessions will include discussion of comprehensive review as well as discussion and action on audit-related services.
