THE REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA
In our discussions about the Dual Admissions proposal I indicated
to The Regents and the faculty that we would not proceed with
the program unless we received sufficient incremental funding
from the State. Unfortunately, despite strong indications
that legislation would be passed to support the program, the
Legislature has now recessed and funding did not materialize
because of the State's fiscal difficulties. We will therefore
delay implementation of the Dual Admissions program, as amended
by the Board in July, until we can obtain the necessary funding.
