NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING
This is a Notice of a Special Meeting of The Regents of the
University of California on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2001. This
business meeting of the board will be held at the UC San Francisco-Laurel
Heights campus, 3333 California St.
This special meeting has been scheduled as a result of the
cancellation of the regents' regular meeting of Sept. 12-13,
which was postponed in the wake of the terrorist attacks in
New York and Washington, D.C.
The meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m. with public comment,
followed by open session of the full board at 9:25 a.m.
Agenda items include a resolution in memory of the victims
of Sept. 11, the appointment of the student regent for 2002-03,
establishment of a management school at UC San Diego, a discussion
of the comprehensive review of UC undergraduate applications,
and a presentation on the university's long-term capital outlay
budget.
Portions of the afternoon agenda will be held in closed session
for the purpose of discussing personnel and collective bargaining
matters.
Following the special meeting, regents will convene at 5
p.m. at the Catellus Visitor Center, 255 Channel St., on UCSF's
Mission Bay campus, for a bus tour to Genentech Hall and an
update on site development and UCSF housing planning.
