UC People Management Certificate Program
A new UCOP program for anyone who manages others or aspires to
This program is for anyone who manages or supervises others (or aspires to) and consists of core and elective courses covering the following topics: Performance Management, Managing People, Administration and Operations, Change Management and Communications. It is designed to increase our people management capabilities at UCOP as well as across the entire UC system.
The benefits of the program include:
- Building baseline management skills for all people managers and future people managers
- Providing flexibility to complete the program with all online courses or a combination of online and in-person courses
All E courses are available from the UC Learning Center and Instructor led can be registered for in UC Learning Center. The specific courses for UCOP currently include system-wide e-courses and local in-person classes. In order to obtain a People Management Certificate, you will need to complete all 10 Core Courses and 4 Elective Courses (one from each competency).

To register for any class, visit the UC Learning Center ** Please Note - e-courses can be taken at any time, local in-person course are scheduled on a rotating basis throughout the year.

In addition, those who have completed the program will be eligible to attend the UC Systemwide People Management Conference to be held in Los Angeles on Aug. 1-3, 2017. The conference will bring together leaders from across UC who have completed the People Management Certificate Program, the Management Development Program (MDP), or the UC-CORO Systemwide Leadership Collaborative. The goal of the annual conference is to provide attendees with the opportunity to:
- Collaborate and exchange ideas with each other
- Learn about current topics and share best practices
- Continue learning about leadership within the UC system
